For an event as special as your wedding or reception, we’ll pull out all the stops to make sure everyone is almost as happy as the couple in question. We’re flattered that you’re considering our facilities for these special celebrations—and from state-of-the-art sound systems to Savor…Alaska’s unmatched cuisine, we’re here to make this day even more memorable.

Examples of Weddings and Receptions

Every wedding or reception has unique requirements. There are tactical similarities among these types of events, of course, and we offer the two examples below to inspire your planning and give you a sense of some of the possibilities. Take a quick look, and then get in touch so we can start planning together!

SCENARIO:  Wedding

The Tikahtnu Ballroom is ideal for weddings and receptions. The ballroom can be divided into smaller sections based on your square footage needs. Ballroom A is the most popular section—with floor to ceiling windows, it’s a stunning venue that can accommodate up to 150 guests comfortably.

The spacious lobby surrounded by windows just outside the ballroom is perfect for gathering family and friends. The adjoining terrace is also spacious and affords grand views of the mountains and a breath of fresh air for your guests (especially any happily teary parents). In fact, some couples opt to have the ceremony right on the terrace—during the summer.

In either case, the seating, staging—and even catering—is all taken care of by an experienced staff. Your job? Enjoy yourself!

SCENARIO:  Reception

A perfect room, perfectly organized for a perfect celebration. Our team will set you up with every table you could possible need:  a cake table, a gift table, a guest book table—even tables for the wedding party and all the guests to sit down at. The buffet is fresh, smells wonderful and it’s all some of the early arrivers can do to keep from sneaking a bite! The band is set up on a riser, and ready to play—and the DJ for later in the evening will be good to go as well. A cherry wood dance floor provides the perfect “first dance” setting. The beaded walls give every Tikahtnu section an elegant flair and the enormous skylights offer an abundant amount of rare Alaskan sunlight.

In fact, the only people who will be anxious to leave will likely be the bride and groom.
