Conventions, Expos and Trade Shows

If you’re looking for a place to host these typically large events—that draw between 500 and 5,000 attendees and span two to four days—the Anchorage Convention Centers may have the right facilities for you. Our largest single space, Idlughet Hall, has the capacity to support Plenary Sessions with up to 5,000 attendees, and our overall footprint allows up to 587 standard 8’x10′ tradeshow booths. Our meeting rooms and supporting spaces for workshops, seminars and administrative activities are some of the finest, and our in-house catering is second-to-none.

If your event is bringing guests to Alaska for the first time, they’ll probably want to see more of the Great Land than just the Convention Center. We have the expertise and ability to help with any pre- or post-event activity planning as well.

Conferences, Seminars and Meetings

These mid-sized to small-sized types of events can be quick, in-and-out gatherings to present and share information over lunch, or they might form a week-long series of events with a wide variety of activities. The Dena’ina and Egan Centers offer world-class options to accommodate both ends of the spectrum, and just about anything in between. Our meeting rooms are outfitted with built-in ceiling-mounted projectors and wall screens, wireless and wired Internet is freely available throughout the Centers, and there are plenty of power/data outlets in walls and floors. You’ll be ready to impress, inform and inspire.

The Big Idea

So you have a big idea to gather people. Maybe it’s your colleagues for a summer-time picnic, maybe it’s a national speaker coming to Alaska, a fundraiser or perhaps a well-known member of the community has passed away and you think the funeral home is too small for the memorial.

You have an idea for an event, some of the details in your head. But you need help.

That’s why we’re here.

Your Sales Manager

It’s the job of the dedicated professional at Anchorage Convention Centers to plan events every single day. When you choose the ACC, you will be assigned a Sales Manager. It’s our Sales Managers’ jobs to guide you, to help you think of all the little details you wouldn’t have considered on your own. We can help with your budget, your room configurations and floor plans, décor rental, planning, timing, flow, and food selections from our own Savor…Alaska catering department.

Behind the scenes, our operations department reads the floor plans and creates the scene just for you. If you want stages, podiums, tables, chairs, cocktail tables, coffee carts, bars, coat checks, registration areas or VIP sections, our operations department will work to create exactly the space you have envisioned with your Sales Manager.

Your Event Manager

When it’s time for your event, you will then be assigned an Event Manager. The Event Manager will be there the day of your event to activate all the plans we have worked out together. He or she will be able to make last-minute changes and ensure that all the details of your event will be carried out with expertise.

Your Catering Manager

Our Savor…Alaska catering department will prepare your food from scratch. From baking our own dinner rolls in our in-house bakery to making homemade pastas, we will create a delectable meal for your guests. Catering Managers will schedule just the right number of servers and bartenders that will be assigned to work your event. Our folks will be there for just for you and your guests.

Whether you’re a full-time or first-time event planner, the ACC staff is primed to make your event a memorable one. If you have questions, we’ll answer them and likely tackle a few queries you haven’t thought of yet.
