When it comes to finding the ideal location to hold a banquet, luncheon or special event, we hope you place our facilities at the top of your list.

Examples of Banquets, Luncheons and Special Occasions

Each event has unique requirements. It’s helpful to understand some commonalities among these sorts of events as you begin your planning. We offer examples below to inspire your planning and give you a sense of how your event might compare. Take a look, then contact us to discuss how the Anchorage Convention Centers can help you plan your event.

SCENARIO:  A Major Banquet

Imagine: A state leader is being recognized for their efforts on behalf of a charity. Section A of the Tikahtnu Ballroom bustles with activity as hundreds of guests dressed in their finest mingle and gaze out to the Chugach Mountains before taking their seats in anticipation of Savor…Alaska’s finely-prepared meal (using only the freshest ingredients) and to toast the guest of honor.

Recent events we have hosted along these lines include the Governor’s Inaugural Ball and the Iditarod Mushers Banquet.

SCENARIO:  A Business or Club Luncheon

The three Tubughnenq’ Meeting Rooms can be used individually or in combination of two or three to allow for a larger space. These well-appointed meeting rooms each have built-in ceiling-mounted projectors, wall screens and power/data outlets in walls and floors to make A/V and other equipment hookup fast and easy—and provide Internet access, wired or wireless. Lunch is served by Savor…Alaska, providing guests with a delicious and delightful dining experience.

Similar events include Resource Development Council meetings, the Alaska Forum on the EnvironmentAnchorage Downtown Rotary, Anchorage Chamber of Commerce “Make it Monday Forum” weekly luncheons and the Visit Anchorage  Monthly Membership luncheon. Dinner and Holiday season events include Alaska Heart & Vascular Institute, and Alaska Native Tribal Consortium.

SCENARIO:  A Private Social Gathering

It’s the big night. Mom and Dad are smiling and laughing as Cook Hall fills up with friends and family in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. Guests are treated to the finest that Savor…Alaska has to offer—the finest beverages, the freshest food, the most creative plating and the most thoughtful service. The toasts from everyone are heard perfectly by everyone and the hilarious slide show has gone off without a hitch. It’s an unforgettable evening.

We’ve regularly hosted parties for the likes of ConocoPhillips, the Alaska Peace Officers Association and many families large and small.

Let’s talk

If you think our facilities could be a good fit for your event (and we believe they are for most), contact us to discuss the details. Longer-term (1 year out and more) and national events are generally coordinated through Visit Anchorage, while shorter-term events are booked and managed by our in-house event staff. The first step is to get in touch.
